The AWD on these can stay turned on all the time, but the front wheels only kick in IF the rear wheels lose traction. If the rear wheels don’t lose traction, then the front ones won’t kick in. Mine has worked flawlessly so far. I was worried about it at first, it not any longer. Actually pretty impressed.
